A Day In Paris

New York has became a place I've become comfortable to travel solo to, but after 6 trips I wanted to see somewhere different. After spotting a cheap flight to Paris, I decided to head to Paris for the day with my Mum.

We got an early flight from Edinburgh Airport, heading to Charles De Gaulle Airport. The second I arrived in Paris Airport the signs were all in French, some had in English below. I started to panic, not known what to look for. One of my friends suggested to get the train into the City. Once I spotted a picture of a train, I followed the sign. We went to the ticket machine and clicked English, but the English translation wasn't full English. I ended up clicking what I thought was a return and hoped for the best. Then my Mum questioned me, how I manage the trains in New York. I said well New York trains are easy.

We got the train to Champs Elysees and walked up looking at the shops. I always wanted to see a French Sephora, to see how different they are to the American Sephora. Sephora was one of the first shops I spotted that I wanted to go in, so I headed in and the security asked to see in my bag. Known I was only in Paris for the day, I rushed round the shop picking up things I liked. A few staff stopped me and started speaking in French. I assume they were asking if I was finding everything ok, like they say in the American Sephora. I said sorry ? Then she spoke again in French. I said sorry I don't speak French and smiled at them. As I have an American Sephora Beauty Insider card, I really wanted the French Sephora card to say I'd been. I read online the France Sephora have a different card, as it's a different currency and anyone can have the card. I pointed to the picture of the card at the till and the woman goes card ? I said can I have the Sephora card ? She replied French ? I said English ? So I showed her the American Sephora card and she looked confused and said the amount I had to pay in Euros. Sadly I never go my France Sephora card, to show I've been. Every shop after that, I had to open my bag I took for the plane and my Sephora bag to security and some shops even wanted to body search you with their scanner.

We then headed to the Arc De Triomphe and then to the Effel Tower.

It was fun seeing Paris in a day
