Mum's Birthday

It was my mums birthday, so I took her to the TriBeCa the New York restaurant. I wish it really was TriBeCa New York, but it's in Brutsfield Edinburgh. I wore my New York jumper because you have to play the New York part haha. The funny laugh when I go to New York I would never wear anything New York, as I try to blend in with the New Yorkers haha.

I had the bbq beef short ribs
Slow cooked and smoked short ribs with TriBeCa bbq glaze served with fries and a roasted veg salad.

and the classic American vanilla milkshake
A thick ice cream shake with whipped cream

My mum had the all American burger and an Irn bru. I said to my mum you can't have Irn bru you are in America haha. I have no idea why TriBeCa have Irn bru if its meant to be a New York restaurant, when Irn bru is Scottish.

The American milkshakes are the best !!!!

Also before leaving you should go check the toilets out. I try avoid public toilets, but my mum told me how each toilet has photos of New York. It's pretty cool each toilet door has a New York street sign and you open the door and the back wall is a photo, as if your looking onto that area. I really wanted to take photos, but a staff person was watching me opening the doors and felt awkward. I did manage to quickly get this one of the Statue of Liberty.

The Scottish Kelpies

The Scottish kelpies is a famous statue by the side of the motorway passing through Falkirk. The kelpies are two horse heads sculptures, which stand in Helix park. I went through to Falkirk with a couple of my friends to act like like tourists. I'd never seen them up close until now.

There's also a mini version of the Kelpies built and have traveled the world, as far as New York. I've seen the mini ones at the Edinburgh Festival and Glasgow Queen Street train station. I'm pretty sure I posted a photo of myself beside them when they were in Edinburgh.

There's a souvenir shop with Kelpie tshirts etc if you're feeling tourist - y and mini statues from around the world.

I'm not going to lie, when saw Statue of Liberty I screamed "New York" and my friends laughed saying trust you to spot New York statue haha.

New York

I have failed blogging recently :-(. I went to New York and the Internet was very slow to edit blogs, then my blogging went down hill from there. When you don't blog one day, then you kind of slack the next. I need some kind of motivation, so here we go.

What I done in New York :

  • Walk along The Highline
  • Go up the World Trade Center
  • Walk across the Brooklyn bridge
  • Walk round Central Park
  • John Lennon memorial
  • Cupcake ATM
  • Shopping
  • Met Scaaaaatt

My highlight of New York has to be the cupcake ATM. The cupcake ATM is like the coolest thing ever, we don't get any fun stuff like that in the UK.

Also I met a New Yorker called Scaaaat, on Broadway. Well he says Scaaaaatt, but I knew he ment Scott. Someone teach him to say his name properly haha. I think the New York accent is growing on me, you miss out "R's" and change "O" in "A's". I was walking down Broadway and stopped to take my photo outside 1358 Broadway, as the Elizabeth and James ( Mary-Kate and Ashley ) Headquarters is there, so i needed to take my photo outside and Scott shouted "Selfie". He is so funny with the Scottish accent and ends up sounding like Groundskeeper Willie from "The Simpsons". So if anyone is looking for an American who can do a Scottish voiceover, just contact me and I can put you in touch with him.

So finally here is the massive photo post from New York :

If you made it to here you are amazing and thanks for stopping by.
