Edinburgh's Hidden Harlaw

I've lived in Edinburgh all my life and always get tourists saying how beautiful the Pentland Hills are, I'm always like yea (in my head I'm like no it's not). It makes you realise the things you see everyday, you take for granted. We have Edinburgh Castle and the Zoo, but in all honesty I've only been to the Zoo a few times and Edinburgh castle once in my life. I prefer America, I'm more of an American shopping girl. It's like a dream shopping at shops we don't have in the UK. We all want the opposite of what we have. I guess they say the grass is greener on the other side haha. I always thought Edinburgh was a boring place, until someone in my friends on Facebook posted photos and checked into a place called "Harlaw Reservoir". I thought it was somewhere far away, as the scenery looked so pretty not something you'd expect in a city. I googled and it turned out Harlaw Reservoir is in Edinburgh. It looked the perfect place for blog photos, so I phoned my Dad and asked if he could drive me there. My Dad said he'd never heard of it, so we had to use a map to find the place.

The whole place is so peaceful and everyone minds their own business. You'll see dog walkers and fishermen in the area. I've asked a few people from Edinburgh and no one seems to have heard of it, so it's like a hidden place in Edinburgh. It's the perfect place if your wanting to go for a walk, a blogger looking for a nice scenery or doing a photo shoot.

It was so warm and wanted to wear something different than my usual top, leggings and trainers, so I wore my blue dress from H&M for the first time. The dress was a bargain at £7.99, but there's no zip. I think it's meant to be a pull over, though I couldn't even get it over my head. I had to do it back to front legs first and pull upwards. For shoes I wore flowery Sandals from Primark, since it was a nice summer day. The sun glasses are ray-bans.

These are a few of my favourite shots

Now time for the scenery shots

You have to drive up country roads to get to Harlaw Reservoir.

I told my dad to re take my photo walking forward with my back and he took this photo
I look like I'm of to see The Wizard of Oz haha
No idea what I was doing here, but it looks like am playing Slender in the forrest the way my head is. I think I may have been ducking from a tree branch.

Why didn't I discover this place before now? It sure is a hidden place in Edinburgh.

    1. Isn't it. I know I guess when you work all the time you don't have the chance to see your city.
