Soap and Glory | The Onesie

When you think of Soap and Glory you can relate to bath and shower smelly things, but with their ever grown range they have now brought out a onesie. I was surprised by their new edition, which I found in the Boots Christmas range.

Boots started their online sales on Christmas Eve and found the onesie half price £28 down to £14. Being a Soap and Glory fan I gave in and bought my first onesie.

Its nice and soft comfy wise, but I've had to put a hoody on top of my onesie when going about the house as I don't find it warm enough.

The only problem with a onesie is going to the toilet, you have to take all the top half just to pee. That's all onesies in general. Also it's like going about with a babygrow on lol.

I had to take a few pics of the onesie on beside my Christmas tree since it's still kind of Christmas.

H & M Sales

When it comes to clothes shopping I get stuck buying from the same shops, before I get bored of that shop and shop else where. Is anyone else like that or I'm I the only one ? H & M was never a shop I considered going into, untill I saw people going about with the jumpers where the sleeves are slightly longer and found out H & M sold them. I ended up buying the cream colour a few months back.

While I was in town the other day I went in to H & M just because I was passing. At the door the first thing I spotted was a jumper, which I thought looked nice £24.99 down to £7. When it comes to jumpers am really fussy with the style, so had to buy it. After picking up that jumper I looked round the whole store and there wasn't anything else I liked.

I feel like H & M is starting to grow on me, but wasn't my style that day. Do you shop at H & M ?

Maybelline | Baby Lips Hydrate

I rarely enter competitions but while looking through Instagram I saw beauty at tesco posted a pic with the question : who is your beauty / style icon. Beauty at tesco were running a giveaway 12 day of Christmas giving away 12 prizes everyday till Christmas. I've always loved Mary-Kate Olsen's style and when I read what beauty products she uses I have to go and buy them. So I commented Mary-Kate Olsen, not even thinking about the the baby lips. I have every baby lips kind, but the hydrate. So it was a nice surprise to get a notification saying I won one of them. I just had to email my name and address and was good it just came through my letter box, so I didn't need to be in.

The letter says :

Congratulations

Thank you so much for entering our #beautymas competition on Instagram. We hope you enjoy your prize and do keep following us @beautyattesco.

Thanks again and have a wonderful festive season, The Beauty At Tesco Team

The baby lips hydrate is good for when you have dry lips, it's clear and scentless. I once used the Maybelline Baby Lips Strike A Rose which is a pink colour, while I had dry lips and it makes your lips look ten times worse.

Also I just thought I'd mention exactly one year today I done my first blog post at about Krispy Kreme donuts because I didn't know where to start. I started of doing makeup posts what lip sticks looked like on etc. I think I was actually lost what I was talking about back then. It's crazy to believe in that one year I've had a few invites to London events, but because I live in Scotland and worked those days it made it hard to go.
One invite was to the Mondrian Hotel in London spa opening. It was on a Thursday night. I was off work that day and looked at planes Edinburgh to London. The last plane back to Edinburgh was at 10pm, but the event didn't finish untill late and had work the next day.

Also thanks to everyone who been reading my blog, it means a lot :-)

Primark | Boxing Day Sales

Primark is never a shop I plan on going in, but always end up going in while in town for a look and end up buying something. There's a primark in Edinburgh, so while I was in town yesterday I ended up at Primark.

The Primark sales most things are only a few pound which is crazy. Everything is cheap, after a few wears you don't mind throwing the clothes in the bin. The only thing I find about primark is it's like a jumble sale, it's luck finding stuff you like. Also I've liked stuff and said to myself I'll think about it and come back, then when I go back its gone. So you really need to make your mind up there and then.

I've been looking for a warmer jumper for the winter season for ages and came across the maroon jumper £12 down to £5. Which is really cheap, you don't  find jumpers for £5 now adays. Then came across the grey leggings which was £8 down to £5. I think the leggings will go well with ugg boots or wellies.

Have you bought anything recently from Primark ?

Lush

Are you one of those people who can't walk by lush without buying something? I've been buying from lush for a few years now and last Christmas I bought loads of the Christmas products and still hadn't used them after Christmas. I ended up passing Lush last Boxing Day and saw all Christmas products reduced to half price. I went in to have a look and every product I bought was in the sale. I said I wasn't buying any of the Christmas products this year till Boxing Day.

I went into town today since its Boxing Day to my nearest Lush store which is Edinburgh, only they didn't have any Christmas products. I did still end up spending £22.

I picked up the It's raining men shower gel, am sure we all wish it was raining men haha. The Icke baby bot robot bath bomb which had a cute shape to it. Also the fun soap because it's Christmas, so it's ok to have novelty stuff. The pink one is candy smell and the blue is lavender and chamomile.

I see the Lush Christmas sales are on the website, but keeps coming up 503 service unavailable. So I may do some sales shopping online if it lets me.

Have you bought anything at Lush recently ?

Christmas Cupcakes

It seems like am baking a lot lately, but I've been wanting to try the swirly easy icing for so long. I figured christmas cupcakes will be the perfect excuse to try the icing out. It feels weird doing all this baking, as I haven't done much since school. I guess I must have been ok at it since home economics was my highest marks I got at school.

The cupcake ingredients I used :
Eggs
Butter
Caster sugar
Self raising flour
madagascan vanilla flavouring

The icing used was DR Oetker easy swirl icing in vanilla flavour and pretty pink. I decorated it using Christmas cake decorations to make it look Christmassy. Has anyone else been making cupcakes?

Well it's crazy to believe today is Christmas Eve, meaning tomorrow is Christmas Day. I've been buying a few things online, as most shops sales start on Christmas Eve online and Boxing Day in store.

Hope you have a good Christmas :-)

Strawberry Santas

Forget do you want to build a snowman ? Do you want to build a santa ? Haha I decided to try my best making Santas out of strawberries.

They are really quick and simple to make. I think it took me around 10 mins. The hardest part is shaping Santas face.

I just cut tops of strawberries and make sure you place them back to their matching strawberries.

I then used DR Oetker vanilla flavour  easy cupcake icing, as its a cream colour for a face. You can pick up DR Oetker  icing at most supermarkets, I bought mine at Tesco. I lifted of the tops of the strawberry and went round in circles trying to make layers to shape Santas face.

My naked Santas lol

I was really impressed how they looked like Santas.

I then went on and used the vanilla icing for Santas jacket line and top of the hat.

I used cake decorating silver balls for eyes, but I'm not to sure about it. This was my first attempt. I think if I try it again I'll use chocolate chips.

Have you made strawberry Santas ? If you try make strawberry Santas tag me on Twitter. I'd love to see your version.

Soap and Glory Eyes Box

I picked up the Soap and Glory eyes box last year in the Boxing Day sales and every year I've noticed most things in the christmas section make a return the next year, so I planned showing you this in time for Christmas this year since its a gift set only available at Christmas. Sadly I searched and doesn't seem to have come back, typical in my thinking.

The eyes box has everything you need for your eyes, eyeliner , mascara and eyeshadows.

I've never tried the Soap and Glory mascara so it was good to get it in the gift set to try. It's called thick and fast. The first layer I put on I loved how it looked, but didn't look thick. It took me about 2-3 layers before it looked thick. The good thing about this mascara is there's no clumping all your lashes stay separate. I love the mascara how it looked after one layer, but certainly took me 2-3 layers to go for the thick look.

There's six shades of eyeshadows from the lid stuff in the colours, vanilla, wild blue, smokin, minky, dandy plum, black gold. I think it's a good mix of bright blue to natural colours. I personally like the minky one, it's a nice gold looks Christmassy to go with the time of year.

Festive Glitter Nails

I've seen many bloggers post pictures of fancy designs like little Santas and snowmen on their nails, sadly am not that creative :-(. I'm no makeup artist or nail technician. So I've went for the more traditional glitter and green christmas colours.

I've been using Essie nail varnishes for about year now. They are more expensive than most nail varnish at £8, but boots have them on offer sometimes at 3 for 2, so I good time go stock up. Essie is slightly cheaper in America at $8.  They do last longer than cheaper nail varnishes I've tried though. So depends if you like to change your nail varnish colours a lot or want a long lasting nail varnish.

I love Essie mint Apple candy. It's a Christmassy green, not quite Christmas tree etc colour, but I'm really fussy about greens when it comes to makeup. I thought the colour, As gold Aas It Gets looks quite Christmassy aswell with the gold glitter, it looks abit like gold tinsel.

I used the colour mint Apple candy on every second nail, then applied the colour  As Gold As It Gets on every other nail.

What's your favourite Christmas nail varnishes ?

Christmas Dinner At Wetherspoons

I went with my parents the other day for Christmas dinner at Wetherspoons ( The White Lady ) in Edinburgh. If you have never heard of Wetherspoons its a pub where people go for lunches and dinners also.

The Christmas dinner runs through from mid November and through December.

I choose the cheese and broccoli soap, which was one of the nicest soaps I've tasted. I never imagined cheese soup tasting so nice. I would defiantly go back and have the soup again.

The main course I went for the traditional Turkey. Which you got Turkey,Yorkshire pudding, peas, carrots, roast potatoes, sprouts, sausages, stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce.

For desert I had the caramel cheesecake, which I thought was really basic. I've had nicer caramel cheesecakes.

We had to wait about 20 mins from the dishes getting taken away, untill the next course came. The Wetherspoons is a great place to have a Christmas dinner, however I've been many times through the year you just don't know how long your meal will take. Sometimes we have just sat down and its came within minutes of sitting down, other times we have waited over half an hour.

Chocolate and caramel walnuts

I don't bake very often, but a lot of shops have chocolate dipped walnuts at Christmas. I wanted to do chocolate walnuts myself, but make it different.

I put walnuts into cupcake cases. Then melted chocolate and poured into the cupcake cases. Then just let them dry dry. You could leave it like that, or add caramel or any decorative things on top.

I choose a caramel spread to go on top and since its Christmas used Christmas cake sprinkles, snowflakes and snowmen.

If your looking for something simple to make those are so simple, beside making chocolate krispies.
